Meet Our Team

Have you ever dropped everything to chase a dream? That’s Cabinet Renew.

Originally hailing from the Southwest Suburbs of Chicago, Mike and Kevin, lifelong friends and co-owners of Cabinet Renew did just that. It started like most crazy ideas… with a few drinks. “Shut it all down and move to Florida? Why not?” And so it began. With a lifetime of cold winters, high taxes, and the constant desire to be by water and sun to drive them, an idea quickly became reality. Mike had a small but successful painting and wood finishing business and Kevin had a career in sales. With seven kids under the age of eight between the two families and not nearly enough money saved up, it was a huge risk.

OUR TEAM

Being in the painting industry, Mike could see the increasing demand for painted cabinets and knew that a company that specializes in top quality cabinet refinishing would be in high demand. The idea was simple. Develop a repeatable process using only the best available materials and never compromise on quality. Strive for the best possible customer experience by having great communication, employees that you would want to have in your own home, and absolute transparency. And it worked…

What started out in a makeshift spray booth Mike’s garage grew quickly. Within a couple months the company grew into an 800 square foot facility, then 2000 square feet a few months later, then 4000 square feet six months after that. Kevin and Mike will tell you that by treating customers the way that they deserve to be treated, treating employees like family, and consistently exceeding clients expectations, everything else just falls into place. If it sounds simple, that’s because it is.

Fast forward a couple years and Cabinet Renew is by far the most experienced and best reviewed cabinet refinishing company in the Sarasota area. With 253 Google reviews, rated 4.9 out of 5, no other company even comes close. As a specialty company, the only work they do is cabinet refinishing. Day in, day out, every person is focused on only one service.

What began as two guys hustling to make their dreams come true has grown and evolved into a company of highly skilled people who still hold those original fundamentals at heart. A company built of people who still care. That’s what sets Cabinet Renew apart.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I recently wanted to upgrade my builders grade Cabinets… I did have a Handyman add molding and corners So there would be no Drywall on my island… My husband insisted on having a professional Painter if I wanted to paint my island. We had several quotes from different companies and they not only came in at the best price… But the quality of their work was amazing… It looks like they are brand new cabinets from a showroom. Elias Was my technician and he was very professional and did outstanding work! I can’t wait to do the rest of my kitchen now!!! Highly highly highly recommend! Flawless job!

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. We couldn’t be happier with our experience with Cabinet Renew! They took our unpainted office and turned it into exactly what we had envisioned. The finished product is beautiful, and the quality of their work is excellent. The entire team was wonderful to work with from start to finish, and Omar, who handled everything on-site, was fantastic. He was professional, meticulous, and truly cared about getting every detail right. I would highly recommend Cabinet Renew. And when we’re ready to tackle our kitchen, there’s no question who we’ll be calling.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. My wife found Cabinet Renew online, and I'm sorry I don't remember the name of the salesperson, but it was the most remarkable presentation I've seen in my professional career as a physician and in my 40 years as a homeowner. Halfway through his presentation, I was sold on their expertise and what he wanted to do with our cabinets. He pointed out the shortcomings of the previous work done and everything that he can do that we were requesting to brighten up our kitchen. I just can't explain how meticulous these teams were. They came in for two days, wrapped our kitchen like a Dexter scene in plastic to eliminate any smell, dust, or debris, and worked diligently for two full days to get the doors and drawers off, all of the hardware labeled and placed appropriately, and sanding and painting the exterior of the cabinets themselves, with particular attention to getting into the overlap inside, which had not been done in the past. A week later, they bring back the doors and the drawers, and you just can't believe that there isn't a single imperfection in the paint or in anything they did. It's literally like a new car paint job for your kitchen. Our kitchen has gone from what we thought was somewhat drab to vibrant. This was a stellar performance.I'm sure our house value has gone up because of the work that was done.

Trustindex verifies that the original source of the review is Google. I have used Cabinet Renew before so when I installed new kitchen countertops it was an easy choice to call to have them come and repaint the kitchen cabinets. The whole team are professional and customer oriented. It was a pleasure to speak with Kevin again and he gave me a generous repeat customer discount. Dan was extremely knowledgeable and helpful with picking a color. Mike is super responsive and scheduling was a breeze and he is prompt to return calls etc. The jewel in this crown for me was Elias. He led the prep team of Joseph and Khalil very well, ensuring that everything was taped, labeled, covered and set up to his high standards. Special shout out to Steve who came and saved the day with his carpentry skills. Elias’s painting/spray work is outstanding. He pays attention to detail, cares about the work and was very good at explaining the process. He went the extra mile on so many things and left the kitchen spotless. I am thrilled with the look and the doors aren’t even back on yet !!! If you are thinking about having cabinets repainted , this is the company to do it with. The final look is meticulous and they have a great team.
