Have you ever dropped everything to chase a dream? That’s Cabinet Renew.

Originally hailing from the Southwest Suburbs of Chicago, Mike and Kevin, lifelong friends and co-owners of Cabinet Renew did just that. It started like most crazy ideas… with a few drinks. “Shut it all down and move to Florida? Why not?” And so it began. With a lifetime of cold winters, high taxes, and the constant desire to be by water and sun to drive them, an idea quickly became reality. Mike had a small but successful painting and wood finishing business and Kevin had a career in sales. With seven kids under the age of eight between the two families and not nearly enough money saved up, it was a huge risk.

Being in the painting industry, Mike could see the increasing demand for painted cabinets and knew that a company that specializes in top quality cabinet refinishing would be in high demand. The idea was simple. Develop a repeatable process using only the best available materials and never compromise on quality. Strive for the best possible customer experience by having great communication, employees that you would want to have in your own home, and absolute transparency. And it worked…

What started out in a makeshift spray booth Mike’s garage grew quickly. Within a couple months the company grew into an 800 square foot facility, then 2000 square feet a few months later, then 4000 square feet six months after that. Kevin and Mike will tell you that by treating customers the way that they deserve to be treated, treating employees like family, and consistently exceeding clients expectations, everything else just falls into place. If it sounds simple, that’s because it is.

Fast forward a couple years and Cabinet Renew is by far the most experienced and best reviewed cabinet refinishing company in the Sarasota area. With 150 reviews on Google, all of which are 5-star, and 40 on Facebook, also all 5-star, no other company even comes close. As a specialty company, the only work they do is cabinet refinishing. Day in, day out, every person is focused on only one service.

What began as two guys hustling to make their dreams come true has grown and evolved into a company of highly skilled people who still hold those original fundamentals at heart. A company built of people who still care. That’s what sets Cabinet Renew apart.

I am very pleased with the outcome. James and Kevin were fantastic. Both kept open lines of communication and showed up as promised when promised. Aside from a minimal amount of dust inside the cabinets everything was cleaned up as they worked. My house was built in the 70s and they refaced my laminate cabinets. I don’t think cabinet renew does a good job of marketing toward people with more modest homes So I am posting before and after pictures because I want people with modest homes to know that cabinet refacing makes a dramatic difference. I am very happy to recommend cabinet renew for the process.

Cabinet Renew is top tier! The people make the company! Mike Pote and his team led the job professionally and were an overall joy! Ryan was primary onsite professional and he made this project easy and tried to make it as convenient as it can be! Omar assisted him day 1 and was also great! Shout out to the cabinet painters offsite ! The cabinets came back as if they were straight out of the manufacturer! Then James, Joseph, and Michael show a morning of effort installing and making it all perfect ! Joseph even went above and beyond to help me with carrying a large cabinet because these guys are amazing people! I would recommend this company and the people to do any kitchen! You will not be disappointed! Also, sometimes things happen on construction sites and my stove knob was broken and Mike did the right thing and is replacing it. No issues , no problems. A company who takes accountability and ownership will win for me over and over again! Thank you crew! Always tip your crew! They do the hard work and their skills and personalities earn it!

I had my 27 year old kitchen cabinet repainted. They look brand new! A wonderful job. Alan, Sam and Nick worked on this project and they did a great job. They screened off the area and not one bit of dust escaped. If you need to paint cabinets this is the company you should consider.
